Few other plants are so potentially beneficial as immune-boosting infection fighters.
Echinacea (pronounced eh-kin-AY-sha) is the best-kept secret among native American healing herbs. It was the Plains Indians" primary medicine. And dduring the early 20th century, it was a rare medicine cabinet that didn't contain tincture of echinacea. By the 1930's, as antibiotics became available, it was largely forgotten...untill the herbal revival of the 1970's. Modern herbalists tout ecenacia as an immune system enhancer.
